Apple recently blamed its lower profits predictions on slower iPhone sales in China and now the company is trying to boost sales of the iPhone XR in China.
The company has now reduced the price of the iPhone XR for third party distributors in China by $100.
Apple is not offering discounts of the handsets itself in China but third party retailers are now selling the handsets at lower prices.
One Apple partner in China has reduced the price of the handset from 5980 Yuan about $881 to 5380 Yuan which is about $793.
It will be interesting to see if this will boost sales of the handset in China, we suspect Apple will have to reduce the price of the handset in its own stores to have any real impact on sales of the device.
