Apple previously only manufactured the iPhone SE and iPhone 6S in India and now the company has also started to manufacture the iPhone 7 in India.
The company uses Wistron to make its existing iPhones in India and the company will also make the iPhone 7 for Apple.
We are proud to be producing iPhone 7 in Bengaluru for our local customers, furthering our long-term commitment in India,” said Apple in an e-mail to ET exclusively.
It is cheaper for Apple to make these iPhones in India than it is for them to import them into the country, this is because of import duties which are levied on the devices.
