Armz programmable multifunctional robot

Gearbugs has created a new smart toy and programmable robot which can be transformed using a modular construction system into a wide variety of different vehicles and robots. Armz Comes complete with companion applications for both Android and iOS devices allowing you to control the robot directly from your smartphone or tablet. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the Armz programmable robot.

Launched via Kickstarter this week early bird pledges are available from $95 and worldwide shipping is expected to take place during August 2019 if the crowdfunding campaign is successful and manufacturing progresses smoothly.

“Armz is a customisable smart toy that consists of a main core and various types of arm accessories that can be attached on. Download the application from Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your smartphone or tablet, sync it up with your Armz and begin playing on any one of the gameplay modes! “

Currently, the Armz smartphone and tablet application enables users to select four different modes which are combined with different attachments providing a wide variety of functionality and immersion. The different modes include

– Tank Mode: Use the controls on the screen to move the right and left wheels.
– RC Car Mode: Use the left stick to move forward or backward. Use the right stick to go left or right. This interface was designed to imitate RC Car controllers.
– Arms Mode: Push the accelerator paddle button to go and press on the brake button to slow down. This mode simulates actual driving and so, Armz will not stop immediately when pressing the brake button. Instead, it will gradually slow down.
– Sensor Mode: An accelerator paddle button and a brake button are located on the left side. The gyro sensor will measure the tilt and movement of your smartphone to control the Armz like a steering wheel.

Other features of Armz include the ability to combine more than two together for multiplayer gaming, easy control for children and gyroscopic sensors to help aid more advanced programming when necessary.
