This week TP-Link has quietly confirmed that their new Smart Plug Mini (HS105) will not support Apple HomeKit, explaining: “Due to changes in our roadmap, the Kasa Smart Plug Mini (HS105) smart plug will not offer support for Apple HomeKit. Despite the change in direction for this specific SKU, our team is committed to the development of innovative smart home solutions that will continue to delight our customers around the globe.”
The company previously pledged to support the Apple HomeKit range but is now changed direction and will not be providing HomeKit support for its Kasa range. The news has not been formally announced by TP-Link but was spotted boy an eagle eyed Reddit user in a company support FAQ document.
At the current time it’s not been confirmed whether TP-Link it is abandoning the Apple HomeKit platform completely or whether they will create more accessories in the future with HomeKit support.
