Technology has led to some pretty hi-tech ways of cheating during exams, in video games and in other situations. So it is not surprising that the NFL has banned electronic devices that can transmit messages while on the field.
This would allow opposing teams to cheat and relay strategies that could give them an edge over the competition. Sadly for NFL quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he may have forgotten about that rule and wore his Apple Watch while on the sidelines. This has led to him being hit with a $5,000 fine by the organization.
Roethlisberger recently underwent surgery for his elbow and so is not playing in the game. His right arm is out of commission, so his wife has to dress him and she put the Apple Watch on his wrist along with his street clothes. However, being on the sidelines and in street clothes didn’t matter as this is still considered a uniform violation.
The quarterback is said to be pretty mad about the fine and is apparently planning on appealing it, but whether or not he will be successful remains to be seen so far. Don’t wear your Apple watch to a game.
