We know that Microsoft is working on its next-gen Xbox console, which is currently known as Project Scarlett. With every new console release, there are also brand new accessories and controllers. In most cases, older accessories usually are no longer supported.
But the good news is that if you will be buying the next-gen Xbox and you’re currently playing the Xbox One, you’ll be happy to learn that Microsoft has confirmed that all Xbox One controllers will be compatible with the next-gen console. It doesn’t matter which Xbox One controller you have, it looks like all of them are expected to play nice with the next-gen console.
This should be reassuring to gamers, especially those who might have paid a lot of money for the Xbox Elite controller. It is good to know that they won’t need to buy a new controller just to play the new console. Unfortunately, at this point in time, we don’t know much about the next-gen Xbox aside from this. While older controllers will be supported, we’re not sure if there could be anything gamers could potentially miss out on, so we will just have to wait and see what this console has to offer.
